Phoenix Rising, 3 of 6. Born in Response to Violence
Phoenix entities in mythology tend to be born in response to violence. The Phoenix is often either: a) a lifeforce born following a violent or lethal event, or b) something transforms into a Phoenix to oppose a violent threat.
The online dictionary defines a Phoenix as: a mythical bird fabled to rise from its ashes in the freshness of youth and live through another cycle of years: often an emblem of immortality or of reborn idealism or hope.

I don’t know if the writers intended for this, but I think there may be a paradox with the Phoenix. As you know, the Phoenix represents reincarnation and being reborn. The fact that it takes over Jean’s body would be that Jean is reborn with the Phoenix’s personality, but then in the end, Jean knows that she is too dangerous for humankind anddies… that is far from being reborn. Can she be resuscitated? Proabably not.
PS. Comics totally rock.
