There’s a sports saying, “Leave it all on the field.” When I look at Robert Crumb’s artistry, I think, ”He leaves it all on the paper.” He doesn’t often pull his punches. He portrays the world as he sees it, and I feel lucky and happy to have seen some of his ideas and perspectives.

Hi! Cool site. I’m doing a project on Janis Joplin. This is a really cool CD cover! Ciao!
Robert Crumb didn´t get paid for this artwork.

OneMoreOption: You could be correct. My best recollection is that he was paid a minimal sum, but did not receive the original artwork back. And I believe he has seen it sold for high prices subsequently. Either way, an injustice was done. Thank you for your comment.
This was originally on an album cover. I have one of the covers (and the album) I’ve always wondered if it was worth anything other than enjoyment value.
I too have the original Album and cover. This album was number 1 on the charts in 1968 long before CD’s.
My sister has the original album cover also – if anyone has any information on the history of what happened with the album cover, please let me know! Thanks!
love it!
