Innovation In Art – There Are Good Reasons Why We Place More Value On Human-Crafted Artworks Than We Do On Mirrors
The above drawing is by me. It is from a photo of George Harrison taken by Pattie Boyd.
Sunshine is more than just love.
It is illumination, warmth, growth, renewal, new days . . . and more.
There are good reasons why we place more value on unique and intelligent human-crafted artworks than we do on mirrors.
If you are smart enough to form an opinion worth consideration, then don’t just be an avid reader, and don’t just teach the ideas of others. Don’t just absorb and disseminate others’ words unchanged, uncommented on, or unframed. Don’t just mimic or parrot. Don’t just memorize. Do all those things and more.
Write down your best thoughts!
Edit.
Publish innovatively using multiple formats and technologies.
Speak your beautiful mind.
Find at least small ways to do more than just finding, sorting, and distributing others’ ideas. Re-synthesize the best ideas you encounter. Order them in clearer, easier to access, easier to consume, or “better” ways, and place them into the cultural stream of consciousness.
Do unto others the good, intelligent, and pleasant things others have done for you.

Here is a poem I wrote today:
Crumbs
In the labyrinth of this infinitely complex world
I lost you
In losing you, I lost my frames of reference
The ones I brought to us
The ones you gave to me
This left me wandering in these hedges
Looking up to gain some persective from your overview
But I am not tall enough to see over these hedgerows
I didn’t realize how much more I had learned to see
Reflecting off of your eyes
Not being a fatalist
I leave Crumbs everywhere I go
Broken parts of a cell phone
As I run from my fears
Foolishly hoping you will recognize these fragments as me
Fragments only you would know I had left out in the open ground
But I suspect time will cover these Crumbs
Most people will walk on them, not notice them, or sweep them away
Dust will obscure their colors and distinctions
But I will know I tried
A few may see these odd ornaments organized in a path
The curiosity may inspire some beauty and wonder in their eyes
Must keep leaving Crumbs
Don’t know what better I could do
