This is the 8th edition of “Things That Could Not Be Improved,” a grouping of things that need not be, or could not be, improved. I’m not a proponent of perfection, but I love seeing well-conceived and well-crafted artworks:

Anne Frank’s Love of Photographic Imagery
When I was in college, my sophomore year, I lived alone in a dorm room. Living alone, and having no other person’s decorating interests to consider, I plastered a 9 foot high and 12 foot wide area with magazine photos of movie stars and fashion photos. When guys would visit my room, they’d do a double take at the wall, trying to figure out my odd choices. But years later when I read the below passage in Anne Frank’s diary, I didn’t feel quite so odd:
“Thanks to Father – who brought my entire postcard and movie-star collection here beforehand – and to a brush and a pot of glue, I was able to plaster the walls with pictures. It looks much more cheerful.” – July 11, 1942.
As I read through Anne Frank’s diary, it was clear her father was a constant source of encouraging her to be a diarist. After her death, he devoted his life to sharing her diary around the world.

Love this collection of images. You have a very cunning eye.
Did you know that Ernie Colon did an Anne Frank graphic novel? http://www.amazon.com/Anne-Frank-Authorized-Graphic-Biography/dp/0809026856/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315673597&sr=8-1
Brings this collection full circle, I think.

OneMoreOption: Fascinating. It’s interesting of you to point that out. I own and have read that Anne Frank authorized biography. I would have never made the connection between Colon’s 70s and 80s work and the artistic styling in the 2010 Anne Frank graphic novel. Thank you very much for shwoing the connection.
