You never know it from the perfect breasts on this site. :)

SIA: I hear what I think you are saying. I think you are saying that this site almost exclusively shows near perfect examples of human bodies. I accept your criticism and the good intentions that accompany it. Part of the reason I included this post is that Zen Rhino makes the rare effort to record, frame, and present larger people in positive lights.

Several months ago, somene else criticized this blog for showing comparatively few men compared to women. While this blog shows both men and women, skinny and heavy (for example, see Heather Corinna’s or Santi-Jose’s artworks), part of the reason there are fewer numbers of men or heavy people is that there are dramatically fewer artists recording men and heavier people beautifully. Part of the reason I created this post was to encourage more artists to do what Zen Rhino is doing, giving beautiful attention where beautiful attention is due.

If anyone wants to suggest artists who are creating positive imagery of larger people, please forward them to me. I would enjoy seeing more of them.

While I do love the photography (and everything else) on the site, I ended up thinking “if only I was thin and beautiful!” and feeling awful about myself.

So I decided to pull out my point-and-shoot, take my clothes off and push the balance slightly in the other direction. Here’s what I ended up with, without trying to pretend that I’m skinny or always crop out my flaws. Not technically proficient, but I did my best.

I definitely was inspired by the lack of diversity, and I think I might spend some more time capturing regular people.
