To Please – 2 Million Views – The Terrifying Best Days Of Our Lives
Knock on wood
Sometime in the next few hours, this blog will pass 2 million views.
This blog would not exist but for the influences of every significant artist I’ve encountered, past and present.
Around 1995, while completing a doctoral degree, I came to the decision that I was no longer going to focus my intents on avoiding some Hell or reaching some Heaven in an afterlife. Instead, I was going to focus on making this lifetime as pleasant as possible for everyone I came in contact with. If the best that could be said about me when I’m gone is that I made some things more pleasant for others, I’ll be fine with that.
So, if I’ve pleased you by sharing some idea, lyric, line, or image, I’ll have worked toward my intents.
Good intents are important to me. As my introductory “Welcome” post implies: Kindness is a priority.
If through reading a post herein, you’ve been given one more reason to doubt a previous “certain” rationale you had for hating someone else, that’d be pretty cool.
My intent, as you might imply from reading my 43Things, could be simply stated:
To Please.
That’s enough for me. That’s what I’m shooting for.

The musician, Imogen Heap, has been a consistent, positive, assuring, and calming voice through her music the last few years since I bought her magnificent album 2 or 3 years ago: “Speak For Yourself”
To my knowledge, she has not yet released a new full album, but she did release this terrific song in the last year:
“Not Now But Soon” lyrics by Imogen Heap:
Not now but soon
The most beautiful light
Will wake us to pillow fighting excitement
Not now but soon
Right in tune
Every corner
Satellites manoeuvre in beams of change
Standing by the best days of our lives
Magnificent, the best days of our lives
Big bang boom
The best days of our lives
They’re coming right up
If we can just get through this one
Who said it was over?
It’s as good as it gets
We got a few tricks up our sleeves yet
If we swallow “it’s all over” and open wide on these made-to-believe sullen, chewed up, sodden soliloquys
Oh, we’re sweet nothings anymore
Terrifying best days of our lives
We’re hanging on the best days of our lives
No two ways about it
Best days of our lives
They’re coming right up
If we can just get through this one
I’ll hang on grab onto your feet
Someone else holds tied to my shoelaces
When their trouser leg tears, runs and stops at the seam to keep us tangled together
Until help finds us yeah
I’ll hang on grab onto your feet
Someone else holds tied to my shoelaces
When their trouser leg tears, runs and stops at the seam to keep us tangled together
Until help finds us yeah
Best days of our lives
Better be the best days of our lives
Bring on the best days of our lives
Coming right up, woah
Coming right up
If we can just get through this one

As I’ve said before here in comments: your blog has been a significant source of inspiration for me. That so many others come by as well, is telling of is significance to many others as well.
Again, thank you.
Love,
Gina

OneMoreOption: Thank you Gina. Thank you for continuing to share your voice and inspirations on your blog and here.
Why is it that I am just one among so many? it might have to do with the raw honesty of what you pose and propose, and the gentleness with which you do it. I learn so much from visiting your site. It makes me think and revisit and review my opinions which need constant maintenance. Thank you for the work you do here, and congratulations. G
